Design Process
We will work closely with you throughout the design process, construction and planting of your garden.
Initial Consultation
The process begins with a consultation which usually lasts between 1-2 hours. This gives us an opportunity to discuss your requirements and find out how we can help you. We will discuss how you intend to use the garden, what style of garden you are drawn to and the features you would like to include. We will show you our portfolio of work so you can see some our finished projects.
At this time we also like to discuss you budget and appraise the existing garden, plants and features. Following this meeting we will send you a written client brief, outlining the scope of the project, and a fixed price quotation, to prepare the detailed plans.
Surveys and Garden Plans
Survey: A detailed site survey must be carried out to provide the basis for the initial design. We will generally undertake this ourselves but for very large gardens or those with complicated levels we can recommend an excellent surveyor.
Concept Design: During the first stage of the design process we will create a 3D model of the new garden which makes it easy for our clients to visualise how the finished garden will look. We will visit you to present the design and discuss any suggestions, amendments or changes you wish to make.
Plans and Specifications: In order to build the garden scaled plans are required. We will produce all the Plans and Specifications needed by the contractor to cost and build the garden.
Building The Garden
Finding a reliable tradesman to faithfully interpret a design can be tricky and can make all the difference when creating a new garden. We have close working relationships with a number of experienced landscapers and other specialist tradesmen whom we can recommend. We can assist you with appointing a contractor suitable for your project, liaising with each potential landscaper, on site, to discuss the scope of the work. During the build, we can also provide a monitoring service to deal with any issues which arise and to ensure that the design is realised. We will make regular site visits to check on progress and advise the contractors on any details or aspects of the design where needed. We will advise on sourcing products and suggest suppliers in order to ensure quality while keeping to the agreed budget.
Planting
The difference between a good garden and a truly great garden lies in the strength of the planting and we take pride in delivering creative schemes which look good all year round. We will work closely with you to create a planting plan which not only enhances your garden but reflects your likes and dislikes; using our wealth of knowledge to recommend plant varieties which will flourish in your garden. On agreement of the plan we will personally source the plants from wholesale and specialist nurseries. We will take delivery and check all the plants for quality. Then layout as per the Planting Plan and plant up the scheme, adding suitable feed where appropriate.
